Holiday Attendance

Dear Families,

CKHS is thankful for you!

As we prepare for our Thanksgiving break, we want to express our gratitude for everyone in our school community. Your partnership helps ensure that students arrive each day on time, prepared, and ready to learn. Every day of school provides valuable opportunities for students to connect with peers and teachers, and to grow personally, socially, and academically.

Please remember to stay in touch with our Attendance Office to excuse your student when they are unable to attend school. You may call 360-662-2400, message us via ParentSquare, or send a note with your student

Thank you for all you do to support CKHS!

Tardy System Update

Our Tardy system is now fully active again, and we want to make sure you know what to expect. Our goal is to help students build positive habits, stay engaged in class, and reduce interruptions to learning. Each week, we will review tardy reports and apply the following supports and interventions as needed to students who have 4 or more tardies in a week:
  • Step 1: Conversation and reflection with our ISR supervisor (no detention).
  • Step 2: One lunch detention.
  • Step 3: Meeting with our Dean of Students and a Thursday after-school detention.
  • Step 4: Meeting with an Assistant Principal, three lunch detentions, and an additional Thursday after-school detention; continued concerns may result in a day of ISR.
  • Students reset back to Step 1 if they avoid appearing on the tardy report for one full month.
If you have any questions about the process or how to support your student, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your partnership in helping students arrive to class on time and ready to learn.

Impact Aid

We are still collecting Impact Aid forms. Please return them to the main office as soon as possible.

Each year, Central Kitsap School District applies for federal Impact Aid funding, which helps offset the loss of local tax revenue caused by tax-exempt federal property.

Your participation in the Impact Aid survey is essential. The information you provide directly supports our ability to secure these funds, ensuring CKSD has the resources needed to serve our students and schools.

Please complete this form as soon as possible. Log into PowerSchool Parent Portal to access the online forms for your students. You can learn more at https://www.ckschools.org/impactaid or email ImpactAid@ckschools.org with your questions. Thank you for your cooperation!
