A green and white sign indicates 'Student Parking Only, Permit Required'.

National Merit Semi-Finalist

Two people stand in front of Central Kitsap High School on a sunny day.
CKHS Senior Nicholas Brazier has been selected as a National Merit Semi-Finalist! Over 1.3 million juniors in about 20,000 high schools entered the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which serves as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Nicholas’s scores earned him a place on this prestigious list and allows him to continue competing for scholarships as a potential finalist. Go Nicholas!

PSAT/NMSQT Opportunity for CKHS Sophomores & Juniors

The PSAT/NMSQT offers valuable benefits for students—it provides practice for the SAT, personalized feedback to highlight academic strengths and areas for growth, and the opportunity to qualify for the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program along with other scholarships (juniors only).
To register, students should pay $18 at the ASB office or online by October 8th. The test will take place on Wednesday, October 15th, from 7:30 AM–11:15 AM in the CKHS Satellite Gym.

Encourage your student to take advantage of this opportunity as an important step in their college preparation journey!

If you have any questions about the PSAT/NMSQT, please contact Elizabeth Martin at elizabethm@ckschools.org
