Cougar Family Night

What an amazing turn out we had at Cougar Family Night! We changed to this new format because for years our Maze Days and Open House attendance has been dropping, and we thought combining those events would bring more people together to kick off the year with some real energy and excitement. Mission accomplished! We do know there is plenty of room for improvement next year, and will look to make some of the following adjustments:
  • Multiple camera stations for school pictures
  • Multiple entrances to decrease congestion
  • Ability to print schedules more quickly
  • A working AC system😉
Thanks to everyone who came out. It was so nice to see all of you back in the building!

2025-2026 CKHS Cell Phones, Headphones, and Electronics Devices

Important reminder about the CKHS cell phone policy. We all know that cell phones are tremendously distracting during class time, and their use by students makes it impossible for teachers to do their job. Like last year, cell phones are prohibited during all class periods this year-including advisory. We don’t want to confiscate anyone’s phone, so please have a conversation with your student about the importance of having the phone turned off and put away during class. We will also remind our students of this policy during first period on 9/3. Let’s work together to keep kids engaged and learning!

During Class Time: Cell phone use is prohibited in classrooms, locker rooms, or bathrooms. Listening devices may not be worn during class. When entering a classroom, students will follow their teacher’s directions and remove any wireless headphones or Bluetooth-enabled devices, turn off their cell phones, and place them in the teacher-designated spot. Phones will remain there for the entire period.

Before School, Passing Periods, Lunch, After School: Appropriate use of cell phones and personal electronic devises is allowed. At no time should they be used to take photos or videos without permission or to post hateful social media content.

Unauthorized use of electronic devices will result in confiscation and/or other disciplinary action. If a student’s device is confiscated, they may pick it up from the main office at the end of the school day.
